In my group i think that we should follow a very straight forward set of rules. Some of these group norms would be things like always stay on task, and no wondering off and talking to other groups while filming.

In my opinion I think something that there are many things that trailer has to have in order for it to be a succesful, it has to have many aspect that will make people want to watch it. One of the main things that i think a movie trailer has to have is music. Another think that a trailer also needs is some action to show people what they could expect in the movie.

In my opinion I think that rules can be good or bad, for example some rules involving the law are acceptable but other rules involving things in school like cell phones are bad. I think that my life works better with rules because without them people could get away with anything and our society would be horrible because no one would want to do anything or followw the rules becasue they know that they don’t have to. There is one rule in school that i think is completely stupid and pointless and it would have to be the cell phone policy, teens are always using technology and on their phones and teachers think that b establishing a rule about cell phones will stop them from texting during class but it wont.

Controversial Society

In the society of the book the giver i would have to say that the most controversial part of this society would have to think would be there “releasing” The reason why I think this is because it doesn’t matter how old you are or why you are they will release you and when you get released it is the same as being executed. Something in our society that I could think of being a same as this would have to be jail because if you do something really stupid or something that involves breaking the law.

Lois Lowry was born on March 20, 1937 in Honolulu Hawaii. Lois was the middle child in a family of three, her older sister Helen acted as a mother towards her and her younger brother was a boy who shared many interests with her father which was a military dentist. Lowry married young, she had just finished her sophomore year in college when she married a naval officer and continued the odyssey that a military life requires. Lois had four children with this man and then in 1977 their marriage tragically ended.

As an author Lois is known for her challenging subject matters within her works for children. She has explored such complex issues as racism, terminal illness, murder, and the Holocaust among other challenging topics. Lois Lowry has written many great novels but some of her best material would have to be the giver, the Sam series, the Tates series and The Gooney Bird series. Lois has a very unique but interesting style of writing and because of that she has won many awards in her writing career.

Author Lois Lowry is best known for The Giver, her dark, thought provoking, and controversial fantasy, which is a young adult novel, and for Number the Stars, a children’s novel about the Holocaust. Lois Lowry received the amazing Newbery Medal for each of these books.

Summer Holiday Debate

Recently there have been ideas of changing our summer holidays to a system that lowers the amount of days in our actual summer holidays and increasing the amount of days in our holidays throughout the school year like spring break and christmas break. There is many thing that could be wrong with this issue including the amount of kids skipping during the summer weeks. The reason why I believe this is because kids usually don’t want to be stuck in school doing work all year while they could be outside. I also think that much more kids would want their break to be longer during the summer because everyone wants to utilize the great summer weather. The part of this system that I think would benefit student would be that they don’t forget their stuff as much as they would if it was a huge break over the summer like it normally is here.

The system of longer summer holidays like we have now could also be viewed as good or bad depending on the situation. A reason why I think it could be bad is like i said before students could forget all their stuff they learned from the previous year. This system of longer summer breaks is good for student because they want to be able to use all those great summer days.

In my opinion I agree with the longer summer break system rather then the modified schedule of the longer breaks but shorter summer holiday. The reason why I would prefer this system over the other is because I think that every teen would want to be out during the summer having fun rather than having a longer break during the winter when there isn’t as much to do. People don’t like the the cold weather as much as hot sunny weather and that is why i would have to agree with the way that they are doing it now.

Spring break 2010

This spring break did many interesting thing but the highlight of my spring break was going to jasper with my dad and some family friends, while we were there we went to the local Mountain there and went snowboarding, it was really fun. While we were at the mountain me and my friend spencer climbed to the very top of the mountain, it was really hard but definitely worth it.

I have learned that being a poet isn’t about having fans or making money but it is actually about expressing your feeling to yourself. My five highlight from the conversation would have to be 1.Him being such a normal down to earth guy, 2. his long luscious curls, 3. him telling us about how he was first inspired to create poems, 4. Him telling us that he doesn’t write poems for money or fame but just for the love of doing it, and 5. how he was so patient with us

The feedback that i got from my fellow peers was overall pretty good but there was one slightly small thing that they thought that i needed to change and that was the fact that the lyrics of my song that i did were not clear and you could not read them properly. After they told me this i quickly went onto i movie and patched up all of these little errors in my video.

Olympic Blog

To me the Olympics are something that bring people together. It isn’t necessarily about watching sports or who gets the most medals but it is about people getting together and having a good time while cheering for their country.

Although I have many favorite Olympic moments my top three starting with Sidney Crosby scoring the gold medal winning goal for Canada, my second favorite would be when Alexander Bilodeu when he went up to his brother that has a something wrong with him after he won his gold medal in Freesyle Moguls. My Third Favorite Part f the olympics would have to be the opening and closing ceremonies and all the cool things that the did during them.
